WILL Reading shot 42 points to win the Esmund Jago Trophy at The Vale Golf Club.
A total of 61 seniors from the club ventured out in damp and breezy conditions to compete in the annual three clubs and a putter competition.
Despite the occasional heavy shower and the handicap of limited clubs in their bags, some players enjoyed some fine golf and recorded notable scores.
Reading won the Division Three title and was presented with the trophy by Andy Jinks, the Vale seniors’ vice-captain.
Steve Kirby triumphed in Division One after firing 35 points and was followed by Ian Macrae (34) and John Eastoe (33).
Brian Leggott, with 38 points, topped Division Two ahead of David Hudson (36) and, on a countback, Brian Sidaway and Ian Phillips (33).
While Reading topped the third tier, he was followed by Mike Dean (34) and, on a countback, Geoff Wilson and Mike Spittle (33).
