EVESHAM have slipped into the relegation zone in the Premier Division of the Wildmoor Spa Tennis League.

The Vale outfit crashed to a disappointing 4-0 home defeat against high-flying Stratford-on-Avon.

Stratford are still undefeated during a successful league campaign and rarely looked in trouble as they hosted relegation-threatened Evesham.

Stratford’s top pair Callum Bailey and team captain Tim Page defeated Chris Francis and Julian Heath (Evesham) 6-3, 7-5 and they overcame Ray Foster-Morison and Simon Wall (Evesham) 6-2, 6-0.

Chris Marrow and Pieter Uys-Barnard (Stratford) defeated Foster-Morison and Wall 6-0, 6-0, and then toppled Francis and Heath 6-2, 6-1.

Bottom-of-the-table Moreton-in-Marsh claimed a creditable 2-2 draw with mid-table Redditch HDA.

Chris Elliott and Brian Lomas (Moreton) lost to Tomas Cop and Mathew Cutler (HDA) 6-2, 6-0, but beat Darren Cutler and Terry Iduitua (HDA) 6-2, 6-2.

Greg Stotebury and Graham Jackson (Moreton) beat Cutler and Iduitua 6-3, 6-3, but lost to Cop and Cutler 6-4, 6-0.

Chipping Campden took a firm grip in the race for the Division One title with a convincing 4-0 win against rivals Littleton.

Pershore entertained mid-table Stratford B and moved up to third after a 4-0 victory.

Shipston A sealed an impressive 3-1 victory at Claverdon B to move joint-third in Division Two with Alcester C.

Previous Division Three leaders Chipping Campden B slipped to second after being held to a 2-2 draw by third-placed Inkberrow B.

Fourth and fifth placed teams, Pershore B and Warwick, shared the points in a 2-2 draw.

Bidford beat bottom-placed Moreton C 4-0 in Division Four, while fourth-placed Evesham B drew 2-2 with Moreton-in-Marsh B.

The Division Five race has become even tighter with only five points separating the top five teams. Leaders Shipston B drew 2-2 with Wildmoor Spa B and lost 3-1 to Tyson in a re-arranged league match. Chipping Campden C recorded a 3-1 win over Redditch HDA D, while Warwickshire County Council drew 2-2 at Tysoe. Inkberrow D hosted Henley C and shared in a 2-2 draw.
