THE monthly shoot at Childswickham Gun Club paid homage to one of their founder members the ever-popular Norman Morgan now in his 104th year.

Members were required to use a side-by-side orientated gun instead of the more popular over and under models widely used today.

The 40-target sporting layout was the same for all whichever choice of gun was used.

Competition was fierce but as always good humoured with all the side-by-side users keeping a watchful eye on the scoreboard as to get their name on the trophy is considered something of an achievement.

Nick Ingles gave a good account of himself with a well-compiled score of 30/40 to claim third position behind Joe Allen with a valiant effort of 33/40 in second spot.

But the real star of the day was stalwart and club legend Paul Colley.

Using his side-by-side Colley posted a brilliant score of 36/40 to take the honours and the trophy.

Scores of the top two were unchanged with Colley also taking high gun of the day and Allen second but Alan Cleaver (over and under) took third position overall scoring 32/40.

The next club shoot will be on Sunday, August 27, with fibre wads only.
