EVESHAM racer Mike Tustin recovered from a difficult few meetings with points at Thruxton in round seven of the Ducati TriOptions Cup.

Team MTR have made bike improvements and are confident of pushing on at the last two 2017 meetings at Silverstone this weekend and at Assen.

After no points at Snetterton Tustin suffered a similar fate at Brands Hatch in round six after qualifying 18th following a first breakdown of the year during practice.

The Vale rider moved up to 17th as the first contest was reduced from 10 laps to five in heavy rain.

But he was caught up in a big accident on the warm-up lap before the second race involving four riders.

Tustin was uninjured but a big repair bill meant his meeting was over.

The bike was ready in time for Thruxton and the team were happy with the qualifying pace although it was only good enough for 19th.

Tustin could not get anywhere near the riders ahead as he had to settle for 20th in the opener.

But he secured points with 14th in the second race after starting 21st with new front forks helping handling.

Tustin lies 14th in the cup standings and fourth in the EMRA Superstock.
