COUNTY bragging rights will be at stake on Saturday (3pm) when Midland League Division One’s two Worcestershire representatives do battle.

Pershore Town host high-flying Littleton looking to reclaim the pride lost in a 2-0 defeat when they crossed the A46 divide in August.

Lewis Clarke and Stuart Hall decided matters that day and the Ton Boys have held the upper hand since, enjoying an upturn in fortunes since manager John Edwards took charge.

Littleton had been on a 12-match unbeaten run in all competitions before losing 3-0 at higher-ranked Lye Town in a Worcestershire FA Senior Urn semi-final but that was more than two weeks ago.

One factor that could go in Pershore’s favour is Littleton’s recent inactivity with just two fixtures going ahead since Boxing Day and a third scheduled to take place yesterday with Bewdley Town in the Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup.

After a spike in form before Christmas, Town have won once in six matches.
