TWO of Dumbleton’s up-and-coming juniors snaffled five wickets apiece to inspire Dumbleton III to a 90-run walloping of Cheltenham Civil Service.

Arthur Kane, aged 14, conceded just seven runs and took out the top three before 17-year-old Julia Newman (5-17) scythed through the middle order.

It meant Cheltenham Civil Service got bowled out for 78 in response to Dumbleton's 168 for three, a total instigated by Peter Boorman's 118.

Another young left arm spinner, 14-year-old Ryan Kilmister (14), also made a significant contribution on his league debut for Dumbleton's firsts.

Kilmister bowled 10 very tight overs, conceding 29 runs, and then came in at number 11 to hit the winning runs as in a one-wicket win at Biddestone.

Chasing Biddestone's 200 all-out, Rupert Salmon (43), Wade Ridsdale (44) and Ed Bragg (39) were the chief contributors to a total of 201 for nine with one over to spare for the visitors.
