PERSHORE are joint leaders of Birmingham Cricket League Division Two with Sutton Coldfield after defeating Wombourne by 146 runs.

Liam Ridings (57), Chris Ridings (46) and George Kirby (45 not out) boosted the Pershore total to 250 all out with David Hemming taking 3-34.

The hosts were shot out for 104 by a fine spell of seam bowling from Luke Dalley (6-28).

Dan Bassett (43) and Alexander Roy (32) were the only Wombourne batsmen who reached double figures and at one time their total stood at 7-4.

Walmley cruised to a seven-wicket win at Astwood Bank.

Although opening batsman Ryan Blakemore hit 51 for Bank, they were restricted to 153-8 with Robert Hutchings snapping up 4-33.

An unbeaten 62 from 46 balls by Sarmad Bhatti and 47 from 43 balls from Daniel Bromley took Walmley to an easy win in 26.3 overs.

Ombersley lost to high-flying West Bromwich Dartmouth by seven wickets in the Premier Division.

A disciplined bowling effort restricted Ombersley to 184-6 with Nick Hammond top scoring with 43.

In reply, Dartmouth cruised to victory with 14 overs to spare thanks to a third-wicket stand of 110 between Kadeer Ali (76 not out) and Andrew Umeed (69).

Barnt Green prop up the table after a 22-run loss at Berkswell.

Berkswell’s total of 272-9 was built around 52 from Chris Whittock, 47 from Liam Gately and 47 from Mohammed Ahmed.

Andy Sutton took 3-43 for the visitors who finished on 250-6 in response with 88 from Warwickshire batsman Matt Lamb and 40 from wicketkeeper George Hargrave who added 84 for the third wicket.

Himley brushed aside a flimsy Division One challenge from Bromsgrove who collapsed to 60-7 before a battling unbeaten 90 from Jack Taylor took them to 187 all out in the 49th over.

Taylor and Tom Hill (33) added 105 for the eighth wicket but the rest of the Bromsgrove batsmen found the going tough against Worcestershire's Adam Finch (4-42) and Stuart Wedge (3-18).

Himley wasted no time in reinforcing their promotion potential with Worcestershire's Oliver Westbury compiling an undefeated 81 as they cantered to an eight-wicket win with nearly 18 overs remaining.

Kidderminster were made to work hard for their 16-run win at Wellington after Worcestershire’s Ben Twohig (68) and Neil Pinner (38) saw them to 227-8 at the close of their innings.

Wellington were taken into a promising position of 186-4 in response by Dan Lloyd (51) and Simon Khomari (47).

But they fell away to 211 all out after the duo's dismissals with Chris Steele (3-36) and Charlie Stainforth (3-38) taking three wickets apiece.

Brockhampton are still without a win after they went down to a seven-wicket defeat to Malvern's Barnards Green.

Joe Crichard hit 70 and Adam Hewlett opened with 65 in a Brockhampton total of 239-9 but 83 from Ryan Tongue and 82 not out from George Rhodes guided Green to a comfortable win with more than 11 overs unused.

Old Elizabethans slipped down to sixth in Division Three after a seven-wicket home defeat to Rugby.

The Worcester side were dismissed for 136 with Vishaal Rathod (3-10) and Naresh Kaushal (3-25) the pick of the bowlers.

There were few alarms for Rugby with Matt Ewer striking 43 not out from 43 balls as they strolled to victory with more than 20 overs in hand.

Handsworth’s eight-wicket win over Redditch means the Worcestershire club are the only team in the division without a success.
