PERSHORE Town girls are celebrating success with a title triumph for their under 14s.

The team were joint top of Mercian Fortis Junior League Division One with Inkberrow Eagles.

Pershore finished halfway up Division Two the previous season but 2017-18 saw the groups combined.

The campaign went to the wire with Town, Eagles and Warndon Villages Wildcats all fighting for the title.

But Pershore won their last four games to make it 19 victories from 24 fixtures with four defeats.

Manager Rob Bille said: “Within three years the team have gone from struggling to win any games to become joint league winners in a very competitive league.

"The girls have come a long way in a relatively short space of time.

"They’ve exceeded all expectations this season and been rewarded for all the hard work they’ve put in throughout.

"These girls have made Pershore Town so proud of their achievements.”

Pershore's parents' and players' player of the year was Abbi Collins.

The coach's accolade went to Freya Bostock and the manager's to Tilly Stephens while the ACE award for attitude, commitment and effort was picked up by Emma Guscott.

The team are looking for a sponsor for the 2018-19 season.
