EVESHAM Tennis Club welcomed more than 60 people to an open day during the Wimbledon fortnight.
The event celebrated the installation of three brand new courts and provided an opportunity for anyone interested to try the sport.
In hot weather, adults and juniors of all abilities and ages took part in a number of fun coaching sessions run by Inspire2coach while existing club members enjoyed a mixed doubles tournament.
The new courts, funded through Evesham Rowing Club, the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), Severn Waste Services, Wychavon District Council and Mencap, extend the capacity of the club to six courts.
Fully floodlit, they can be used throughout the year.
John Lomas, chairman of Evesham Rowing Club, officially opened the courts and thanked the organisations that had provided funding support.
He also expressed delight that "the future of tennis in Evesham is secure for many years to come".
Evesham always welcome new members and anyone interested can email tennis@erc.club or phone 01386 446131.
