DUMBLETON extended the club's cricket week to span two this year for the first time in their 133-year history.

The first week was dedicated to junior and women’s fixtures and kicked off with a thriller.

The women’s first XI played their final Cotswold District Cricket League clash against 2017 runners-up Poulton.

Wales' Danielle Gibson, 17, who worked her way up through the age groups at Dumbleton, was given a warm welcome home after making her Kia Super League debut in a win for Western Storm over Yorkshire Diamonds.

Dumbleton beat Poulton in the T20 contest with just five balls left to finish runners-up in only their second season in the league.

Poulton scored 146-2 before Dumbleton were guided home by Abbie Whybrow (51 retired), Elysia Fleck (38) and Helen Hopkins (21 not out).

The girls' under 12s won the Gloucestershire Cricket Board Indoor League while the under 13s claimed the North equivalent and the under 15s reached the Blast final.

The season saw 55 women and girls take part in more than 50 indoor or outdoor competitive fixtures across the county.
