EVESHAM'S Callum Jennings returned from Italy with an individual second place in the world championships fishing competition for under 15s.
The England team travelled to Modena's Cavo Lama canal and were in second spot after day one with 16 points behind the hosts on 12.
Jennings was joined by Billy Pitman of Redditch, Josh Pailing of Nottingham, Sonny Lynn of Cambridgeshire and Billy Kirk of Worthing in the line-up.
On day two England did not have such a successful day and finished the competition fourth overall, missing out on a bronze medal by two points.
But Jennings' displays secured him a match win on day one and second in section on day two, leaving him with three points and an individual silver medal behind Italian Marco Bettina who scored two.
He weighed in 6.694kg on the first day and caught 82 fish in three hours for 3.879kg on the second.
Jennings has been supported by the Angling Trust, Evesham and District Angling Association, Cadence, Marukyu, Mike Bedding, Ian Shepherd, Liam Dennick, Alcester Sports and Tackle, Evesham Youth Angling Club and The Finnick Group.
