LITTLETON fell 3-1 at home to Lichfield City in a frenetic Midland League Division One game at Five Acres.

The hosts played much better than the previous weekend — when they lost 6-0 at Chelmsley Town — and were probably a little unlucky to be defeated.

The game started at a frantic pace as both teams searched for an advantage.

Lichfield looked the more dangerous and had a few efforts cleared off the line but Littleton went ahead on l6 minutes.

A James Schembri pass set up George Corbett whose powerful shot was blocked but Ryan Reeves was on hand to steer in the rebound.

However, Lichfield really put on the pressure as they attacked in waves and scored two goals before half-time.

Littleton pushed men forward and created several half-chances without turning their pressure into goals.

On 80 minutes Lichfield made sure of victory but their player appeared to pull back Littleton's defender and left him on the floor as he planted his shot wide of keeper Luis Sone.

Max Black, Ryan Thomas and Dan Sheppard scored for City.

Littleton host the free-scoring Heather St Johns on Saturday (3pm) and visit Studley on Tuesday, August 21 (7.45pm).
