ANY worries local anglers might have had about how the Avon would fish around Evesham this summer following the floods can be dismissed if Andrew Taylor's success is anything to judge.
Fishing the Fish and Anchor Weir, he enjoyed a fabulous day's sport and brought in a netful of good sized chub and two good barbel including one weighing 12.98lbs.
And, with the annual Festival due to take place in August, there should be plenty of activity on the river ahead of the three-day extravaganza with qualifying matches now taking place on a weekly basis.
