SOME of Evesham's older juniors accompanied the seniors to Ironbridge Regatta last weekend.
The win of the day on Saturday belonged to the men's Senior III double of James Gardner and Chris Sumner, who beat Pengwern by half a length in their straight final over the 1000m course.
The pair won again the next day when they dominated their final against Ross to claim their second glass bottomed pot.
Sunday, with its shorter 500m course, was definitely a better day with a win for Novice single sculler Stacey Allen who cruised through the first two rounds, against opposition from Hunt-ingdon and Warrington, to meet a strong Minerva Bath sculler in the final.
Allen got a good start and pushed ahead but she needed an incredible final push to give her the win of a length, winning her Novice cap.
She then came up against clubmate and fierce rival Abi Penrose in the final of J18 singles.
The race was neck and neck all the way, with a different leader each stroke. However, It was Penrose's turn to narrowly win her second pot of the day having already won the Senior IV sculls.
