Birdseye Sports Evesham and District Sunday League
BOTH promoted teams made a sound start to life in Division One with goals from Sullivan and Gwillam earning Crowle the points at Bengeworth Rovers, whose chances weren’t helped by having three players dismissed!
Mickleton Rangers led Ambassador 2-0 at half-time courtesy of goals from Donnison and Robinson but later strikes from Heath and Scott earned the visitors a share of the spoils.
Champions Bretforton Old Boys won a hard-fought encounter with Upton Snodsbury, a Matt Layton treble led Red Horse to a four-goal win over Broadway, while Bear and Evesham WMC shared four goals.
Pinvin United made a good start in Division Two hitting five past Alderton with Bulford and Bellamy both scoring twice.
A Darryl Ballard brace earned Honeybourne Gate Inn a 3-2 victory over Karma for whom Stewart Reading scored twice.
Doubles from Ace and Jordan saw Inkberrow edge out Tewkesbury Town, Bredon and Cider Mill shared four goals, while Golden Cross defeated Offenham 2-0.
Broadway Reserves stunned Eckington in the third division as youngsters Horsburgh (2) and Hopkins were on target with manager Tom Cumberland also netting two.
Tesco United looked comfortable at Ashton as they led with goals from Morris and Colston but Ashton hit back to take the points courtesy of goals from Large, Johns and Gregg.
Newcomers Northway started in style in Division Four hitting eight past Stour Excelsior Reserves with former Tewkesbury Town player Beasley hitting five goals.
Black Bear began life with victory against Halcyon Swans with Hutchins, Gore and Arnold on target.
Ambassador Reserves produced an excellent performance to defeat Pebworth, while doubles from Andy Clements and Chris Clements led Anchor Fladbury to a convincing win at George & Dragon.
Bengeworth and Wickhamford shared six goals with Martin, Wood and Mullins scoring for the former and their opponents replying through Hemsley, Gibbons and Evans.
The deadline for entering this season’s Pershore Hospital Cup competitions has been extended until this Sunday. Draws will be made the following night.
