ASHTON are enjoying their best start to an Evesham Sunday League campaign for several years.
Second in division three and still in the County Cup, the club reached the last eight of the Bluck Cup last Sunday after a 3-1 victory at Halcyon Swans where Haines, Horne and Johns were on target.
Ashton are joined in the quarter-finals by Tewkesbury-based Black Bear and WMK. The former defeated Bengeworth Sports 6-2 while WMK came from behind to defeat Lenches Lions 3-1 thanks to goals from Nasser, Keay and Carling.
Also through are Eckington who defeated Wickhamford Sports by the odd goal of five.
The Bear moved off the bottom of Division One after a four-goal win over Bengeworth Rovers with Greenwood and Wallace both scoring twice.
Broadway United missed a penalty in the dying minutes as they lost out by the odd goal in five to Upton Snodsbury.
Thriller Crowle and Mickleton Rangers fought out a seven-goal thriller with the Worcester side edging the contest with goals from Benham, Gwillam, Stone and Aston.
Holders Red Horse reached the last four of the Worcester Junior Nursing Cup after Tim Beattie and Matt Layton both netted twice in a 4-0 victory over Westbury Celtic Reserves.
Honeybourne Gate Inn remain top of Division Two following a 3-1 victory at Offenham Rovers where Rainey (2) and Ballard found the net.
Karma gained a welcome win at Alderton in an eight-goal thriller with Dipple scoring twice for the winners.
Bredon gained three much needed points after a 2-1 win at Pinvin thanks to goals from Carroll and Diamond.
Golden Cross remain second but they had to work hard to defeat basement team Tewkesbury Town 3-2. The Cross goals came from Hanna, Grove and Ellis.
Tesco United stayed top of Division Three after a 4-1 defeat of Broadway with Scrivens, Charman, Kerr and Hodge on target.
Stour Excelsior put on an excellent display to defeat Riverside 4-0 with goals from Stuart (2), Coe and Carr.
Defford and Besford defeated Badsey Rec 4-2 with Lawson on target twice for the winners.
Division Four leaders Northway march on after defeating Stor Excelsior Res 6-1 courtesy of goals from Beasley (2), Wiggins (2), Hughes and Chew.
Pebworth won at George and Dragon where Smith-Daniel scoring twice, while Anchor Fladbury and Ambassador Reserves shared six goals.
