BADSEY maintained their six-point advantage at the top of the Worceste-rshire Cricket Centre Indoor League after defeating Ashton, one of their closest rivals.
After the early run out of Nick Powell, Badsey struggled to 97 all out thanks mainly to Witts' 37. The chasers were put under enormous pressure as James Smith produced a fine spell of 3-15 in three overs that included the wickets of danger men Wood and Cooper.
Patel with 36 and 28 from Banks brought Ashton back into the game but the 13 needed off the final over proved too much as they finished four runs short of victory.
Harvington posted their best score of the competition with 158- 4 against Great Alne.
The main contributors were Fisher with 31 and Pete Smith’s 28 while a much changed Great Alne side conceded no fewer than 50 extras.
Temple (36) and Millard (28) got the Warwickshire side off to a good start but, once the pair had retired, things slowed up and some fine fielding, with all six wickets falling to run-outs, resulted in Great Alne being all out for 99.
The final game of the evening saw an improved Broadway performance.
Batting first against Exhall, they managed 112- 4 with Clements (38) and Wheeler (31) the main run scorers.
Exhall timed their run chase well and thanks to Gwynne (27), Keen (25) and Mulraine (23) reached their target with nine balls to spare.
Exhall are now clear in second place in the table, six points behind Badsey knowing they must defeat them when they meet to have any chance of overhauling them.
