Pershore Town 0, Evesham United 2.
EVESHAM began their pre-season programme with a victory over Pershore Town at the King George V Playing Fields courtesy of goals from Steve Lutz and Danny Lennon.
Skipper Lutz fired the Robins ahead on nine minutes, heading home from close range after Jermaine Clark’s shot had been pushed out by Town keeper Sam Bastow.
Simon Fitter and Jamie Hyde blazed over for Evesham and Bastow clawed out Clarke’s header as Paul West’s men finished the half on top.
Early in the second period, Craig Vale handled in the Pershore box but Bastow easily saved Lennon’s spot-kick.
Lennon made amends on 57 minutes, stroking home Evesham’s second after good work by Mark Owen.
United’s Tuesday night clash at Stratford Town, including a legends match, was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
