SIX members of the Tonga Rugby party taking part in the Churchill Cup visited Bredon Playing Fields for a bit of touch rugby with Bredon Star.
This was organised as part of the RFU’s Choose Rugby campaign, which aims to introduce new and returning players to the game in a variety of styles to suit all.
Tongan players Viliami Ma’afu, Vensin Sili, Tongu Leci’atoa, Lei Siua, were accompanied by technical advisor John McKee and liaison officer Dave Irons.
Following a few games of enjoyable touch rugby, led and refereed by Kenny Cuthbert, the visitors were entertained at The Yew Tree, Conderton.
Club chairman Kevin Falvey said: “The club was very honoured by their presence and I wish them well for the World Cup in New Zealand later this year.”
Bredon Star have regular touch sessions at Bredon Playing Fields on Tuesday evenings at 7pm.
Fitness training takes place on Thursday evenings, at various venues.
