BROADWAY LADIES

PAT Kent and Vernoica Rudd will represent Broadway in the Gloucestershire foursomes.

They won their final knock-out round against Linda Everett and Henrietta Cooke, beating them by 3&2. The final round of the winter league was played over a four ball better ball format in fine conditions.

Results: 1 Sue Barker and Judith Noyce 36 points (on count-back), 2 Fran Andrews and Kim Lockyear 36, 3 Everitt and Sheila Aitkenhead 34 (c/b), 4 Betty Payne and Carol Leng 34. The overall result will be announced at the ladies’ spring dinner on April 3.

EVESHAM LADIES

A DROP-OUT Texas scramble with 10 per cent combined handicap was staged.

Results: 1 Annie Bird, Ruth Masters and Melanie Evans 73, 2 Anne Cowley, Pam Hutcheon and Dinah Wood 77.8.

􀁧 EVESHAM held the first men’s team competition of the year with the Ward Bekker Foursomes.

The winners were George Parker and Martin Bird with a nett 68 followed by Boz Harris and Alan Hyde (68.5) and Simon Casey and Dan Richings (69). The top eight went through to the knock-outs to decide the overall trophy winner.

In the winter league group deciders, the result went down to the 18th green of the last game.

The qualifiers were: Dan Richings and Oliver Knight, Stuart Ridley and Roger Smith, Andrew Dauncey and Alistair Ferguson, Pete Stanley and Steve Wood, Darren Nightingale and Dan Haines, George Parker and Scott Ridley, Simon Casey and Phil Bachelor and Stu Green and Jerry Cain.

THE VALE LADIES

FORTY-five ladies played in an 18- hole four ball better ball stableford.

Results: 1 Lyn Robinson and Terri Hawes 39 points, 2 Sandy Carlson and Clare Bunn 38, 3 Pauline Hawkins and Pauline Kay 36.

VALE MEN’S SENIORS

SEVENTY-nine members competed in a stableford for the Bill Kelly Cup with Phil Davis winning.
