Littleton in Junior final joy

11:40am Thursday 24th May 2012

LITTLETON hit back from 2-0 down to beat Bromsgrove Sporting 4-3 on penalties in the Evesham Hospital Junior Cup final.

They completed a memorable season, adding to promotion as Midland Football Combination Division One runners-up and the President’s Cup.

In front of more than 300 at Littleton, Sporting were denied the opener by Danny Edwards’ fine save.

But the visitors went ahead on 10 minutes with a header and then a defensive error let in Jamie Rogers.

Just before half-time, Joe Lolley was bundled over in the box and Matt Mitchell converted the penalty for his 11th goal of the season.

The villagers equalised on 70 minutes as Jamie Clarke burst through and coolly slid the ball home.

Tom Allard switched wings and went close in extra-time before the match went Littleton’s way on penalties.
