TWENTY-six pairs played in the Broadway Ladies’ Martland Trophy over a better ball and medal play format.

Despite an improvement in weather, conditions were still challenging as Henrietta Cooke and Sue Byrd won with a score of 74 nett.

Lyn Chambers and Jude Vidler lost out on countback.

Both pairs will receive trophies given to the club by ex-member Tilly Martland.

• Harvington club held their July medal in damp and blustery weather.

The Manor Farm Leisure course in Anchor Lane was in good condition but scoring proved difficult.

Results: 1 Jeremy Saunders 78 gross 16 handicap 62 nett, 2 Simon Allsop 83- 20=63, 3 Roy Hope 93-28=65.
