THE sun shone for the Bourton One Mile Challenge which encouraged competitors and spectators to turn out in high numbers.

Bourton Roadrunners’ Beth Wynn bagged her first major road race win in a time of five minutes 19 seconds with club-mate Shona Crombie-Hicks a close second in 5.22.

The first man home in Bourton-on-the-Water was Dave Roper, of Cheltenham Harriers, in 4.28.

Regular race entrant Marcos Gacia travelled from Spain to clock 4.34 and finish second.
