Bond-Williams beaten in Olympics

CHIPPING Campden fencer Louise Bond-Williams saw her Olympic bid ended in the first round of the women's individual sabre.

The 30-year-old was beaten 15-8 in the round of 32 by Greece's Vassiliki Vougiouka at London's ExCeL.

Vougiouka went on to reach the quarter-finals, where she was beaten 15-12 by Korea's Jiyeon Kim.

Bond-Williams is currently a member of Truro Fencing Club.
