SIBLING rivalry was rife when Zoe Wenham and her brother Guy raced in national competitions.
Snetterton was the venue for Zoe, 18, in the Avon Tyres British GT4 championship in her Ginetta G50.
After a difficult practice session due to a big thunderstorm, better weather the next day saw Zoe claim her fifth podium of the year with a fine second place.
But the Kemerton driver’s car crawled over the finish line with its rear on fire after a damaged driveshaft dripped grease onto the exhaust.
In race two, she took over at the pit stop in last place but snatched fourth place on the final lap to stay second in the championship.
Meanwhile, Guy, 15, was at Anglesey in his Citroen Saxo and continued to lead the 750 Motor Club’s Saxmax Championship.
A great qualifying session saw him take pole position for both races and he led the first for most of the contest to finish a convincing winner with the fastest lap.
A sluggish start put him on the back-foot in the second of his races but he then managed a close runners-up spot despite an incident with the lead car.
Zoe next races at Silverstone on September 9, while Guy’s last meeting of the season is at Donington Park next month.
