BATSMAN Alexei Kervezee believes Worcestershire have what it takes to survive in LV= County Championship Division One.
The County are aiming to harness the momentum of their promotion-winning season of 2014 when the new season gets under way in three months.
Kervezee, who scored 829 runs at an average of 33.16 last term, said: “I definitely see no reason why we can’t stay up.
“I don’t look at any of the Division One teams and think they’re any better than us. If anything, I think we should be able to push for consistency as individuals and that will put us in good stead.
“It makes a big difference that all the lads like each other and everyone gets on well, it’s quite a tight-knit group and it bodes well for the future.”
Winter training started in November and the 25-year-old added: “It is hard work but it’s worthwhile in the long run.
“There are sessions when you’re on your hands and knees praying for it to stop but in the long run it’s beneficial and good for us.”
