THE lady captain’s drive-in brought 40 Broadway members out for their first competition of the new year.
Debbie Donoghue, the 2015 captain, launched the nine-hole foursomes stableford when rain and high winds made conditions tough for scoring.
Donoghue and her vice-captain Brenda Whittingham won with 14 points.
Second on count-back were Pat Righton and Chris Moulder (14), ahead of Jude Vidler and Chris Parkinson (12).
The ladies donated part of their entry fee towards Donoghue’s chosen charity for 2015 and £30 began the fund for the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Trust.
Doreen Reeve guessed the drive distance of 140 yards into the wind.
