NORTH Cotswolds Young Cricketers have moved to Moreton-in-Marsh after more than 10 years based at Blockley.

Teams will play at under 11s, 13s and 15s level in the Cotswolds District League and under 17s in the Cotswolds Hills League, while a new under 19s side will compete in a T20 competition.

Head coach Shaun Williams said: “This will attract those players who might have drifted away from the game to come back and play three hours of cricket on a Sunday all within the rules of T20 leagues with coloured clothing and loud music.”

Non-exec chairman Rupert Bell said: “The move is hopefully the start of something very positive in the area and I am determined that we become the North Cotswolds centre for cricket excellence.”

Training starts tomorrow from 6pm until 7.30pm for eight to 17 year olds. The club’s Ollie Currill has a Gloucestershire academy contract, while Darrel Williams plays for the Durham MCCU side.
