PERSHORE were denied their first victory of the season by stubborn hosts Pedmore in Worcestershire Cricket League Division One.
The visitors amassed a healthy 262-9 from 50 overs with Will Green (93) playing a starring role.
But Pedmore survived on 201-8 to restrict Pershore to 15 points from a winning draw despite the efforts of Matt Brace (3-24). Pershore host Hagley on Saturday (1pm).
Evesham got off the mark in Division Two with a rare win, seeing off hosts Coombs Wood by five wickets.
Mohammed Fahim Maan (54 not out) and Ali Asghar (53) provided the highlights in Evesham’s 194-5 after Wood were dismissed for 191.
Promoted Bredon continued their fine start with a 66-run home victory over Enville, who were restricted to 224 all out.
Clive Fenney (108), Martin Hill (55) and Jamie Munro (40) helped power Bredon to 290-4.
Evesham entertain Lye on Saturday and Bredon visit Worcester Dominies (both 1pm).
