PROMOTED Bredon continued their fine start in Worcestershire Cricket League Division Two with a 13-run win at Worcester Dominies.
Opener Jamie Munro (49) and Martin Hill (46) produced key innings to help second-placed Bredon to 223-9 from 50 overs before they clinched 24 points by restricting the hosts to 210 all out.
Lee Diamond (4-27) and Dominic Fenney (3-42) stepped up to bowl important spells for the villagers, who host Evesham in an early-season derby on Saturday (1pm).
Evesham failed to build on a rare win from the previous weekend as they lost by six wickets at home to Lye, crumbling to 102 all out after batting first under cloudy skies.
Pershore opened their win account in Division One with an eight-wicket success over Hagley after Taylor Pugh (5-61) helped restrict the visitors to 137 all out.
Liam Ridings then scored 70 not out in the Vale side’s winning 138-2 and they visit Colwall on Saturday.
