LEADERS Pershore have opened up an imposing 42-point lead in Worcestershire League Division One after a 149-run battering of relegation-threatened Burghill & Tillington.

Chris Ayliffe (69) and Andrew Robertson (50) lifted visiting Pershore to 242 and then Matt Brace snapped up 5-36 to skittle out the Herefordshire side for only 93.

The reduced overs calculator, caused by the rain, cost Worcester Nomads and Droitwich respectively.

Nomads were unable to match the enhanced target that resulted after Bromyard racked up 283, including 99 from Dinusha Fernando, despite the 90 scored by Innocent Kaia.

Droitwich were powerless to prevent Max Young’s 91 counting for nought as Pedmore won a reduced run-chase to climb off the foot of the table.

Hagley beat Redditch in a run chase and are now joint second with Nomads, well behind Pershore.

Bewdley are fourth after they just managed to hold off a determined effort from Oldswinford to chase a reduced target.

Droitwich are fifth and then come Colwall, who were unable to stop Belbroughton triumphing in a reduced run chase.

Bredon have opened up a 15-point lead in Division Two after they won at home to Wormelow.

Worcester Dominies were beaten by Feckenham and the new side in second place are Cookley who beat winless Malvern. Cookley are four points ahead of Dominies who are six in front of Stourport who lost at Coombs Wood.

Lye beat Harborne and Enville won a vital match at home to Evesham.

Himbleton are the new Division Three leaders after they overcame Bartestree thanks to 123 from Jon Critchlow and 81 from Alistair Pretty.

Himbleton are 12 points in front of Alvechurch who were rained off at fourth-placed Chaddesley.

Netherton are fifth after winning at Cleobury Mortimer thanks to 5-18 from Simon Oseland.

Avoncroft are seventh after a successful reduced target run-chase at Rushwick, who are eighth despite a century from Chris Pearman.

In the other matches in the section, Ross beat Alveley and Claverley recorded their first win of the season at home to Old Vigornians but failed to climb the table.

Kempsey continue to lead the Division Four table after an abandoned match against Harvington.

Barnards Green slipped up at Kidderminster and Bromsgrove beat Martley thanks to 6-36 from Chris Burford.

There were two matches which failed to start – Fiveways against Hanley Castle and Halesowen against Himley, but Oldswinford beat Old Hill.

Division Five leaders Astwood Bank defeated Tenbury and Stourport beat Barnt Green to maintain their unbeaten grip on this section.

West Malvern are third, also still unbeaten, after winning with three balls left at Old Elizabethans.

Hallow beat Redditch in a rainreduced chase and Stourbridge beat Enville.
