PERSHORE can seal promotion back to the Birmingham Cricket League after a double-header over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Worcestershire League Division One leaders, who are 45 points ahead of Worcester Nomads with four games left, host struggling Bromyard on Saturday and Burghill and Tillington on Monday (1pm).

But Pershore need a slip-up from Nomads to seal the title early after only taking seven points from a losing draw at third-placed Droitwich.

They were restricted to 202-9 and their hosts secured the winning draw with 110-5 as Spa’s innings was reduced to 26.2 overs by rain.

Bredon slipped two points behind Cookley at the top of Division Two after a rain-affected losing draw at home to Lye despite Tim McVicker smashing 137 with five sixes.

Stourport are only three points off the promotion zone after a winning draw against Evesham.

Division Four strugglers Harvington were skittled for 63 in a 187-run loss to Five Ways Old Edwardians.
