ASHTON-under-Hill sneaked into the runners-up spot in the Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor League Evesham Division.
Having just failed to beat this year's champions Alcester and Ragley the previous week Ashton got the runners-up spot after 2016 winners Dumbleton beat Stanway Boxmen only to lose second place on runs per wickets.
Boxmen (79 all out) lost to Dumbleton (80-3) with four balls remaining.
In a low-scoring game Stanway's batting struggled against the accurate pace of Tom Green (3-11) who took a wicket in each of his three overs.
Only Andy Powell (11) and Mike Banks (19) managed double figures although there were 24 wides.
Seventy-nine is not normally sufficient to cause problems but after Jamie Diamond (32 not out) and Matt Nicholson (25no) reached 59-0 in the seventh over the proceedings ground to a snail's pace.
Dumbleton lost three wickets, including a retired out, in taking 4.2 overs to notch up the final 20 runs.
Both teams ended up with 10 points and it was the Boxmen's best season for some years.
Harvington conceded their game against Bredon after being unable to field a side and they collected the wooden spoon.
The county finals night is on Sunday from 6.30pm at the Royal Grammar School Worcester sports hall with Alcester and Ragley representing the Evesham league.
