STANWAY Boxmen remain unbeaten in the Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor League Evesham Division.

They scored 122-5 to beat reigning champions Alcester and Ragley (105 all out) by 17 runs.

After an early wicket, Stanway scored too easily and after passing halfway on 51-2 accelerated through Mike Banks (22), Josh Armstrong (19 not out) and Matt Cull (32).

Alcester's reply was similar up until halfway on 52-2 with Mark Woolley on 17.

When acceleration was required wickets tumbled including two lbw to Paul Evans with only Paul Dipple (22) making much headway.

With three overs left Alcester were 37 behind but they lost two wickets in the next.

Then last man Steve Capron was bowled by Josh Armstrong with an over to spare.

Dumbleton (104-4) lost to Ashton-under-Hill (105-5) on the last ball.

Last man Will Archer needed two runs from the final delivery and got them after Jamie Diamond failed to run him out.

Dumbleton did not take advantage of a steady start from Matt Nicholson (15) and Scott Tremain (34no) which saw them pass halfway without loss against tight bowling from Will and Tom Archer.

Four middle overs yielded only 23 when with wickets in hand risks were needed but 41 came from the final three overs through Wade Ridsdale (30no).

Ashton replied steadily with Richard Cooper run out and John Cooper well caught by Tom Green for a duck, bringing the Archers together.

After six overs Ashton were 47-2 and ahead of Dumbleton by one but with wickets lost.

After Will Archer retired, Tom continued in good form.

Two more wickets fell and 24 were required from two overs with the Archers back in tandem.

Will ended on 49no with Tom run out in the 11th for 34.
