ASHTON-under-Hill powered into the Worcestershire Cricket Board Evesham Indoor Cup final.

They scored 152-1 to beat Stanway Boxmen by 53 runs after they managed 99-4 in reply.

Mahesh Patel (40 not out) and Will Archer (25no) produced some excellent placement and unhesitating running to power to 64 without loss from four overs.

Both then retired and although there were a couple of overs where Stanway appeared to get a foothold in the game it was short-lived.

Every over hence returned double figures for Ashton to produce a rarely beaten total.

Tom Archer and Janitha d'Alwas also made it back to the bench unscathed.

Stanway were unable to compete running between wickets with opener Pete Green (28) having tweaked something while fielding.

After four overs Stanway had scored 40-0 but the writing was on the wall.

Dave Bull (18), Paul Evans (21) and Aaron Brunt (22no) made contributions but the task became a distant prospect.

Tom Watling picked up 2-23.

The tie between Dumbleton and Prince Henry's was conceded to the school.
