Brought to you by Evesham JournalRobins hoping to chase Town off!
MANAGER Paul West has challenged his Evesham United troops to put daylight between themselves and the other title contenders in British Gas Business Division One Midlands.
The Robins have a four-point lead over Leamington at the top following a last-gasp 1-0 win at Stourbridge on Saturday.
The result was Evesham's sixth straight victory and Michael Hayden's 89th-minute winner proved even more vital as Leamington could only draw 1-1 at Leighton Town.
United welcome Chasetown to St George's Lane tomorrow night looking to press home their advantage in the promotion race (7.45).
West said: "Our job now is to try, if we can, to create a little bit of a gap between us and Leamington.
"It's important that we just focus game to game. I think over the 90 minutes against Stourbridge we created the better chances and, although it was a difficult game, I think we deserved to get a win out of it."
Chasetown, who reached the FA Cup third round before losing to Cardiff, have four games in hand on Evesham but have lost their last two matches.
West added: "Chasetown is a massive game, it's almost like a six-pointer.
"We have watched how fantastic they were in the FA Cup, which is a credit to them and to the standard of football.
"Hopefully, we will have a few people coming to the game to give us a bit of support but most importantly we need to try and win the football match."
Evesham were boosted by midfielder Mark Hands' substitute appearance against Stourbridge, his first outing since October following a groin injury.
Former Worcester City defender Danny Hodnett could keep his place following an excellent display.
