United had a better start to the second half and defended stubbornly for the first 15 minutes by getting bodies in the way as the visitors surged forward with the strong wind at their backs.
However, a six-goal burst in a ten-minute spell showed up the difference in class between the two sides as the visitors played the ball around well and finished clinically at every opportunity.
A great goalkeeping display by stand-in keeper Lucy Taylor foiled the visitors on numerous occasions and prevented an even heavier reverse.
