EVESHAM took the lead in their midweek match when Andy Powell headed in after Ivan Masica had flicked on a long throw from James Coldrick.
Newtown levelled from a free-kick before deservedly taking a 2-1 lead.
United fought back and pressure resulted in a corner that Powell flighted in for Masica to head home at the far post.
Despite a second half of good football, the score remained level. Both sides had their chances with Joel Haycock having a shot cleared off the line, Elliot Grady was also denied while Newtown were denied by the crossbar.

ELLIOT Grady scored his first in a five-star performance with a header from Sam Ford's cross.
The same player then slotted home the second after a pass from Pedro Bernardo who was also instrumental in setting up the striker's hat-trick.
Grady's fourth followed another Ford cross and the scorer then turned provider to set up Joel Haycock.
Bernardo helped set up Haycock's second before a Terriers' defender added to the tally with an own goal.
Grady completed the scoring and his own tally when he fired home from the narrowest of angles.
