SUNDAY saw an early start at the Arden Sailing Club where Val Jolly made the handicap tell in her Heron.
She finished first with Jane Smee, sailing a Laser, though first on the water pushed into second on handicap. Third, a further 15 seconds adrift on handicap, was Emma Williams racing her Europe for the first time.
Race two was the third in the Arden Series and light winds saw the Enterprises gain control early on before Niall Campbell and Jane Smee gained the ascendancy for a clear winning margin.

The ever popular Heron of David Bryden clawed his way up the handicap and a last-gasp gust of wind put him into second place.
Other placings: 3 Alan Salerman & Ray Trace (Enterprise); 4 Keith Stevens (Comet); 5 Stuart & Caroline Stephen (Enterprise); 6 David Stephen (Laser); 7 V Jolly; 8 E Williams.
The final races saw better wind conditions and the fleet split into fast and slow handicap.
In the latter, Campbell and Smee endured a horrible start but eventually recovered to take first place.
The Slow section was led on the water by Keith Stevens but he was beaten on handicap by the Herons of Bryden and Jolly.
