Prime pool is a stage for top shows

EVESHAM Swimming Club members competed in round two of the Nuneaton League staged in Stafford Apex's fantastic new eight-lane pool that gave all competitors the opportunity to achieve some new personal best times.

Chloe Golding and Abigail Humphries continued their excellent run of form and both managed to secure wins in their events - just like they had done in the previous round.

Perhaps the swim of the night, though, came from ten-year-old Thomas McDonald who swam a very powerful and aggressive race in taking first place in the 25m butterfly.

There was just the one victory in the relay events that went to the girls' nine-year-old medley relay team consisting of Melissa Humphrey, Caitlin Sharpe, Abigail Humphreys and Matilda Stratmeier.

The whole team swam well on the night when great performances worth a special mention came from Tomas Leonard, Nicholas Leahy, Chloe Mabbett, Rhiannon Donnahey and Lucy Anderson.

When the points were totted up at the end of the night, Evesham found themselves in fourth place.

The final qualifying round takes place next month and Evesham have it all to do in their attempt to rise up the league.
