Lolley’s jolly good finish

LITTLETON got their Midland Combination Premier Division campaign off to a winning start with a 1-0 success against Stafford Town.

Joe Lolley scored the only goal of the game at Pebworth Road. Andy Robbins’ side created enough chances to have won by a larger margin but in the end were left hanging on to their narrow lead, and captain Alex Baird headed off the line late on.

Littleton broke the deadlock seven minutes before the break when Ollie Manouchehn’s header set Lolley free and he beat the keeper to the ball to thread home. Littleton, who travel to Bolehall Swifts on Saturday (3pm), continued their winning start to the season with a 3-0 victory at Southam United on Tuesday night.

Lolley, Tom Allard and Manouchehn were on target against last last season’s runners- up.
