EVESHAM United manager Paul Collicutt admits his side have an extra incentive to topple Chasetown in tonight’s FA Trophy preliminary round replay at the Jubilee Stadium (7.45pm).

The winners of the tie will host higher-graded Redditch United in the first round proper on October 31.

Collicutt was delighted with Evesham’s battling qualities in Saturday’s hard-fought 1-1 draw at Chasetown but admitted the “job is only half done”.

Dan MacDonald, Linden Dovey and Matt Sysum all took knocks in the match and loan player midfielder Louis McGrory is unavailable after he was not registered for the tie due to a delay in paperwork.

Collicutt said: “The winners will have a home tie against Redditch and that prospect certainly adds some spice to the replay with Chasetown. But I have stressed to the players the job is only half done and we can’t get carried away with things.

“Our feet are remaining firmly on the floor and we will have to make things happen at the Jubilee Stadium — it’s important we make a lively.”

The visitors fell behind against Chasetown when Stan Mugisha capitalised on a mistake before shooting home.

Chasetown’s Danny Edwards was sent off after an off-the-ball incident with Ashley Williams.

Evesham were awarded a late penalty after Adam Mann was fouled and Sysum fired home the spot-kick.

“We conceded a goal due to a defensive mistake and we made it hard for ourselves,” said Collicutt.

“Having lost 2-0 at Chasetown in the FA Cup earlier in the season, we knew we were in for a difficult game.

“The match was hard-fought and very competitive and some of the decisions from the officials were not the best.

“But we kept going and managed to win a penalty and Sysum kept his nerve to dispatch it.”

Meanwhile, Kidderminster Harriers will be aiming to chalk up their first Vanarama League win of the season against fellow strugglers Boreham Wood at Aggborough tonight (7.45pm).

Basement side Harriers have just six points from 14 matches and will be aiming to bounce back from Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat against Welling. Colin Gordon remains in temporary charge while Harriers look for a new head coach.

Central defender Jordan Tunnicliffe is likely to be banned after being dismissed against Welling and he could be replaced by Lathaniel Rowe-Turner.

Harriers might a give a full debut to former Motherwell player Zaine Francis-Angol, who has joined on a short-term contract.
