EVESHAM United manager Paul Collicutt says his side’s dramatic victory over high-flying Tiverton Town will mean “absolutely nothing” if they don’t beat Marlow tonight at the Jubilee Stadium (7.45pm).

A goal in the 95th minute from debutant Nathan Modest saw the Robins win 3-2 and end Tiverton’s long unbeaten streak in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West on Saturday.

Collicutt admitted it was one of the best matches of the season as his side also played 50 minutes with 10 men after Ashley Williams saw red.

However, the Evesham boss said it was now important they backed it up with victory over Marlow, who have lost their last three league games.

“People have said the match on Saturday was ‘the game of the season’ and I would not argue with them,” he said.

“The lads have done exceptionally well and they have come away with a deserved win.

“But, as I said to them in the dressing room afterwards, this result will mean absolutely nothing if we don’t get anything out of the game against Marlow.

“The lads know how hard they worked to get the win on Saturday, so we really need to be on top form to get a good result against Marlow.

“We have been away to North Leigh and won, we have been away to Tiverton now and won and they were both second in the table at the time, so we have proven to ourselves we can beat the best.

“But Marlow are a big, strong side and it is going to be a difficult game, so we will be looking to keep our run going.”

Meanwhile, struggling Westfields face third-placed Alvechurch in the Midland League Premier Division at allpay.park tonight (7.45pm).

The Hereford side, who lost 2-1 to Coleshill Town on Saturday, will be looking for revenge after losing 3-0 at Worcestershire side Alvechurch last month.

Malvern Town host West Midlands League rivals Bromyard Town tonight in the Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup at the HDanywhere Community Stadium (7.45pm).

Malvern lost 2-1 at Wolverhampton Casuals in the Premier Division on Saturday with all the goals arriving in the last four minutes.

Phil Harris’ cross-shot was helped into the top corner of the net by the wind but two Casuals substitutes struck to win the day.
