STRIKER Adam Mann is unlikely to feature in Evesham United’s bank holiday double-header after a bite on his leg forced him to be “rushed to hospital”.

Mann has scored in two of Evesham’s last three games, including last Saturday’s 2-0 victory at Market Drayton Town in the Emirates FA Cup preliminary round.

But Robins manager Paul Collicutt revealed the forward was taken to an accident and emergency department this week and is expected to miss tomorrow’s home clash against Bideford (3pm) and Monday’s trip to Shortwood United (3pm).

“While Adam was on holiday, he got a bite on the back of his calf and got rushed to A&E on Monday night,” Collicutt said.

“He is on a course of antibiotics.”

Evesham will also be without Mann’s strike partner Lance Smith, who is on holiday, and defender Will Wellon is a doubt after picking up a knock but experienced goalkeeper Kev Sawyer is available again.

However, the Southern League Division One South and West club have signed summer trialist Leon Jeanne, the 35-year-old former Cardiff City and QPR winger.

Jeanne made two appearances for Evesham in July with Collicutt saying the ex-Welsh under 21s international could do things with a football he did not think were possible.

The veteran has now penned a monthly deal at the Jubilee Stadium.

“Leon has had his problems but his football ability is outstanding,” Collicutt said.

“Some people may question this signing but I think everyone deserves a chance and you can’t help but like the lad.

“He is a feisty character and I am giving him the chance to do what he does best, which is playing football.

“He is an entertainer and he will put smiles on the fans’ faces.”

James Bloom, who can feature in defence or midfield, is awaiting international clearance from the Welsh FA to join Evesham from Southern League Premier Division side side Merthyr Town.

The 25-year-old has also turned out for Cardiff City, Falkirk, Alloa Athletic, Gloucester City, Port Talbot and Newtown.
