THE magnitude of each game is getting “bigger” as Evesham United aim to secure their place in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West’s top five, according to boss Paul Collicutt.

The Robins, who occupy the final play-off spot, face three games in eight days, starting with a trip to local rivals Bishop’s Cleeve tomorrow (3pm).

They then host sixth-placed Swindon Supermarine on Wednesday (7.45pm) before welcoming high-flying Taunton Town to the Jubilee Stadium the following Saturday (3pm).

“It is very important we keep up with the rest of the teams in the top five,” Collicutt said.

“The games are getting bigger and bigger each week so we need to be as positive as we can to get three points today.”

After five games without a win Evesham got their campaign back on track with victories over Larkhall Athletic and Barnstaple Town last Saturday.

But Collicutt insists his former club Cleeve, who feature young Worcester City striker Joe Bates, will “make life very difficult” for United.

“I am expecting a very tough game,” said Collicutt whose side defeated Cleeve 4-2 in November.

“With it being a local derby as well they will be trying that little bit harder and we know from past experiences what sort of game it will be.”

Evesham will be boosted by the return of midfielder Archie Haskayne after serving his three-match ban.

Collicutt is also hoping to have defender Leroy Odiero, who has fractured two of his fingers, back available.

But winger Carl Brown and forward Lance Smith remain suspended, while attacker Elliot Kennedy is still recovering from chickenpox.
