LITTLETON moved up to fifth in the St Mary’s Hospice Midland Football Combination Premier Division with a 3-0 win over Lichfield City.
The hosts’ Five Acres pitch passed a morning inspection, despite rain, and they took a first-minute lead.
The dynamic Jamie Clarke burst down the left, cut in and supplied a pass for Callum Clarke to convert from close range.
Ten minutes later, Jamie Clarke’s pace took him clear but he saw two efforts blocked. Goalkeeper Haydn Whitcombe’s save kept Lichfield out and Matt Mitchell cleared off the line.
But Jamie Clarke made it 2-0 early in the second-half, scoring from an acute angle not long after being denied by the keeper.
Lichfield piled forward but found centre-half Mitchell and his defence in fine form before a breakaway Kevin Ingram goal completed the scoring in injury-time.
