EVESHAM WMC prevailed on penalties to overcome Cidermill in the first round of the Evesham Mechanical Services Knockout Cup.
Francis bagged a brace for Cidermill while Dyer also found the net as the tie finished 3-3. Ford, Goodall and Iorns netted for Evesham, who kept their nerve in the shoot-out.
WMK also won on a penalties after a 3-3 draw at Bredon. Buckley and Compton were on target for Bredon, while Gibbs (2) and Rainer netted for WMK.
A hat-trick from Brain and goals from Tarley and James fired Fladbury to a 5-3 success at the Sun Inn, while Worthington’s treble led Pershore Athletic to a thrilling 5-4 win at Bengeworth. Green (2) also scored for Pershore, with Lane and Mason bagging braces for Bengeworth.
Mather and James struck in Eckington’s 2-1 win at Harvington, whose goal came from Ferguson, while Moore fired a hat-trick in Mickleton Rangers’ 9-3 home battering of Badsey Recreation. Collins (2), Tye, Mills, Manktelow and Foster all scored for Mickleton, with Atttwood, Bishop and Proctor replying for Badsey.
Alcester Town romped to a 7-3 victory against Defford/Besford United in the Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division Two. Richardson, Poulson and Visor hit braces for Alcester, with Bowen also scoring.
