BRETFORTON Old Boys have failed to reach the Evesham Mechanical Services Knockout Cup final for only the second time in nine years.

They lost at the quarter-final stage to Fladbury Athletic, going down 3-2 in a feisty encounter.

Darren Reeves gave Old Boys an early lead before Brain and Haines put Fladbury ahead.

Layton equalised only for substitute Holman to net the winner eight minutes from time.

Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division Three side Inkberrow continued their fine cup form.

They reached the last eight with a 1-0 victory at Tesco United thanks to Lewis Sheen.

In the Express-Funding Mick Godwin Cup, Bear made the quarter-finals with a 3-2 win over Division Two outfit Alcester Town.

Davis (2) and Smith-Daniel scored with Richardson and Poulson replying.

Hosts Stratford United and Pebworth shared six goals before the visitors triumphed on penalties.

Harvington reached the Bluck Cup semi-finals with a 3-2 win at Division Four leaders Tewkesbury Town.

Woodfield (2) and Ferguson scored for Harvington, while Tarling and Kavanagh netted for Town.

Cidermill also went through with an 8-2 win at Broadway United Reserves with Stuart Reading hitting four goals.

In Division One, Pinvin United moved second with a 4-2 victory over WMK.

Haines, Lamb and Critcher netted for Pinvin with Leary and Pritchard replying.

Bredon were thumped 8-1 in their Division Two derby at Alderton, who scored through Gamble (2), Baker, Dawson, Charlton, Bowles, Greaves and Reid.

Ecosamba saw their Division Three promotion hopes further dented with a 6-4 defeat to Cropthorne after a Williams treble for the villagers.

Charlton Old Boys closed the gap on the Division Four leaders with a 7-0 success at Ruby Jacks.

Ainsworth (3), Chris Clements (2), Dickenson and Woodman scored.

Dragons triumphed 2-0 at Ambi Allsports with goals from Wilsden and Wicks.

Stour Excelsior Reserves won 3-2 at Fortis through Gregg, Carter and Glennie with Andrew and Wallace striking back.

Meanwhile, Shipston Excelsior beat Moreton Rangers Reserves 1-0 in the Stratford-upon-Avon Alliance’s Division One Knockout Cup to make the final.

Bottom-of-the-table Bretforton Old Boys fell 4-0 at home to leaders Studley United in Division Two.

Other games in the Saturday competition were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Fourth-placed Bredon’s visit to Smiths Athletic was also called off in Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division Two.

They are due to entertain mid-table Bibury on Saturday (2pm).
