LITTLETON scored two injury-time goals to rescue a 3-2 win at Leicester Road in the Les James Challenge Cup quarter-finals.

Neither side deserved to lose a thriller but Littleton booked their last-four place with debutant Dan Holloway's fine 20-yard drive past the keeper's despairing drive.

The visitors started strongly and an early Jack Cresswell shot was fumbled by the keeper.

Robbie Bunn shot just wide and Jamie Clarke's effort was well saved but the hosts had their chances with lively players up front.

After a goalless first-half, Littleton keeper Haydn Whitcombe's remarkable save kept the scoreline level.

Clarke, Will Gayton and Cresswell all went close in an end-to-end encounter.

Cresswell finally broke the deadlock with a fine 20-yard drive but Leicester Road levelled within a minute when Nathan McGarrity netted following a mistake.

The hosts went ahead five minutes later through Jake Holt and Littleton threw men forward in a desperate bid to get back into the game.

The equaliser came three minutes into injury-time when Luke Rowlands powerfully headed in a Sean Cooke cross.

The winner came courtesy of substitute Holloway's superb strike with the last kick of the game after Leicester Road failed to clear.

Littleton host Pilkington XXX in Midland League Division One on Saturday (3pm) and bid to overturn a 5-1 deficit at home to Malvern Town on Wednesday in the Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup semi-finals second leg (7.45pm).
