LITTLETON were lucky to finish with a scrappy 2-2 draw at Midland League Division One basement boys Pelsall Villa.

On a rock-hard pitch with a strong wind, ball control was difficult and mid-table Littleton conceded after just four minutes when the Villa right winger cut in to score.

Play switched from end to end and the visitors levelled on 26 minutes when James Schembri ran onto a through-ball down the right and his cross-shot deceived the keeper.

The hosts started the second-half well with their forward running 50 yards before beating Littleton's exposed keeper Haydn Whitcombe.

But Schembri levelled again midway through the period after taking a long ball from Robbie Bunn in his stride to convert past the advancing keeper.

Pelsall had three clear chances to win but poor control and finishing, as well as good keeping from Whitcombe, earned Littleton a point.

Littleton beat Racing Club Warwick 3-0 last week with Dan Holloway, Bunn and Callum Clarke scoring.

They visit Southam United in the Les James Challenge Cup semi-finals tonight and host Pilkington XXX in the league on Wednesday (both 7.45pm).
